M111W

I am trying to print with usb OTG cable connected to my Android 15 tablet.
I have downloaded and configured HP Print Service Plugin and the printer shows up when I click on print.
I am also able to click the print button but after I click it, it says sending to printer and even after it's done, the printer does not print anything.
I don't know what the problem is, we NEED to use USB. We are unable to configure this using wifi or other ways due to constraints.

@dipplus, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve the issue of your HP LaserJet M111w not printing via USB OTG from your Android 15 tablet, even though the print job appears to be sent:

Checklist Before You Begin

Ensure the following are in place:

  1. HP Print Service Plugin is installed and updated from the Google Play Store.
  2. Your Android tablet supports USB OTG and is running Android 4.0 or later (Android 15 is fine).
  3. You're using a USB OTG cable and a standard USB printer cable.
  4. The printer is powered on and in a ready state (no blinking lights or error indicators).

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

Proper USB OTG Connection

Follow this exact connection sequence:

  • Connect the USB cable to the printer.
  • Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on the OTG adapter.
  • Plug the OTG adapter into your Android tablet.
  • Wait for the HP Print Service Plugin to detect the printer. You should see a prompt or notification.

If no prompt appears, try restarting the tablet and reconnecting the cables.

Select the Correct Printer

When printing:

  • Tap Print from your app (e.g., Google Docs, Gallery).
  • On the printer selection screen, ensure you choose “USB: HP LaserJet M111w”.
  • Tap the down arrow to adjust print settings if needed.
  • Tap the Print icon.

Important: If the printer is listed as “Saved” or “Default” but not as “USB: HP…”, it may not be using the correct connection.

Clear Plugin Cache (if still not printing)

Sometimes the plugin may misbehave:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > HP Print Service Plugin.
  • Tap Storage & Cache.
  • Tap Clear Cache and Clear Storage.
  • Reconnect the printer and try again.

Test with HP Print Service Plugin Diagnostic Page

Try printing a test page:

  • Open HP Print Service Plugin settings.
  • Tap “Print Test Page” (if available).
  • This helps verify if the plugin is communicating with the printer.

Update Firmware (Optional but Recommended)

If possible, update the printer firmware using a PC:

  • Visit the HP M111w Support Page.
  • Download the latest firmware under Software and Drivers.
  • Follow the instructions to update via USB.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
