There still seems to be confusion here. I CAN connect via USB. The problem is sporadic wireless connections to the printer from my Macbook. Resetting the print system in the Mac OS helps briefly, but then the problem recurs.
When the printer isn't found through the wireless connection, connecting with a USB cable will establish the connection, but then another printer or printers show up in the printer list. Typically, at least one has a 2.0 driver and others, a 1.3.1 driver.
Yesterday I was able to print wirelessly as expected. Today, no, even though the indicator on the printer shows a steady wireless connnection. Connecting the USB cable allows me to connect to the printer and get on with my work, but I bought the HP wireless printer to use the wireless features for efficiency.
I have twice reset the printing system (prior to today and as previously indicated in this message string) and also have previously uninstalled and reinstalled all that is HP using HP Easy Start.
I'd like to hear from one of you if the existence of two print drivers is a problem - in other settings it certainly has been. Also, I've tried uninstall/reinstall and resetting the printing system, to no avail. I'm reluctant to try that again, unless there's some detail or nuance you suspect I'm not getting right that could result in a better outcome.
By the way, this is a newly purchased printer. I jumped on this "Mac upgrade now printer can't find my computer" discussion string because the symptoms seemed to match, but this Mac has been on OS 10.13.6 during the entire time that I'm trying to figure out this new printer.

Thank you for your patience.
You can try the following steps;
- Update the firmware on the printer:
- NOTE: The printer needs to be restarted once the firmware is successfully updated.
If the issue still persists then check if the distance from the printer and the router is close by or very far.
- Also, ensure that the router supports Bonjour packets. If it does then update the router firmware too.
If the above steps do not fix the issue then you may try to connect wireless to the printer using the Wi-Fi Direct feature on the printer. This way the Mac computer will communicate with the printer wirelessly without a router. To know how to setup Wi-Fi direct, please refer to "Setting up Wi-Fi Direct (Mac computers) from this HP document.
Hope this helps. Let me know.

There is no ePrint button on this HP Pro 102 W printer. The other issues you raised were covered in my post in July.
- printer webpage indicates Bonjour is enabled. Router and printer are about two feet apart. Router is a Ubee DVW32E and the firmware on it was recently updated.
- the firmware datecode is 20170710. I'll need more guidance to identify the printer firmware version, though in walking through the informatioin on the support pages, there doesn't appear to be a firmware update available for this printer.

I read the post. Thanks for the response. As @MKazi is out for the day I am replying on his behalf. I will need some more time to research the matter with my research team and get back to you in this regard. Your patience and efforts are appreciated here.
Thanks and have a great week ahead.
