HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer
iOS

When trying to print using AirPrint from my iPad, I get multiple copies when only requesting one.  Not sure how many copies exactly as I cancelled printing after 3 copies had been printed.  I looked at other threads discussing the same issue and checked my iOS version and printer firmware status but both were updated to the latest version.  Any ideas?????

Hi @jps601 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your printer producing multiple copies unexpectedly. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart Your Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart of both your iPad and printer can resolve the issue.

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it for about 30 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Restart your iPad by holding down the power button until the "slide to power off" slider appears, then slide to power off. Once it's off, press the power button again to turn it back on.

Reset Printer Settings: Resetting the printer's network settings might help.

  • On your HP ENVY 6455e, go to the Setup menu.
  • Select Network Setup.
  • Choose Restore Network Settings and confirm.

Re-add Printer on iPad: Remove the printer from your iPad and add it again.

  • On your iPad, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and ensure you are connected to the same network as your printer.
  • Go to Settings > Printers & Scanners (or Printers & Devices).
  • Find your HP ENVY 6455e and remove it.
  • Use AirPrint to add the printer again by selecting Print from any app and choosing the HP ENVY 6455e from the printer options.

Check Printer Queue: Make sure there are no pending print jobs that could be causing the issue.

  • On your iPad, open the app you are printing from.
  • Check the print queue to see if there are any stuck print jobs. Cancel all print jobs and try printing again.

Firmware Update: Even if you have checked for updates, ensure the firmware is the latest version by visiting HP's official website and following the instructions for a firmware update.

Reset AirPrint Settings: On your iPad, reset the network settings to ensure there are no lingering issues.

  • Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  • Note that this will erase all saved Wi-Fi passwords, so make sure you have those handy.
