Hi @Jxjol,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing issues with your HP printers (4200 and 8500) after updating to iOS 17. Printing problems after a software update can be frustrating but are often fixable. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Check Printer Compatibility: Ensure that your HP printers are compatible with iOS 17. Sometimes, older printers may not work seamlessly with newer operating system updates. Check HP's official website for compatibility information and driver updates if available.
- Update Printer Drivers: Visit the HP website or use the HP Smart app to check for and install any updated drivers or firmware for your printers that are compatible with iOS 17.
- Check Connectivity: Verify that your printers are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device. Also, check for any issues with Wi-Fi connectivity on your iOS device.
- Restart Your Printer: Turn off your HP printers and unplug them from the power source for about a minute. Then, plug them back in and turn them on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve printing problems.
- Reconfigure Printers: Remove your printers from the iOS device and set them up again. To do this, go to "Settings" on your iOS device, then select "Printers & Scanners." Remove the problematic printers and add them back.
- Use HP Smart App: As you mentioned, you can use the HP Smart app to print. Ensure that you have the latest version of the app installed on your iOS device. This app often provides better printer management options.
- Check Print Settings: When printing from an app or document, make sure that the selected printer is correct and that the print settings (e.g., paper size, orientation) are appropriate for your print job.
- iOS Updates: Keep your iOS device updated to the latest version. Apple often releases software updates that can include bug fixes and improvements for printer compatibility.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
