Hi @MAS50,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 3512 is having trouble connecting to your new Verizon Internet Gateway router, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Basic Printer and Network Setup

  • Confirm that both your printer and Verizon Internet Gateway router are powered on and properly connected to their respective power sources.
  • Make sure the printer's wireless feature is enabled. Refer to the printer’s manual for instructions on accessing the wireless settings menu.
  • Reset the printer’s wireless settings to clear any old network configurations. This can often be done through the printer's control panel by navigating to the network or wireless settings menu and selecting the option to restore network defaults.

2. Reconnect the Printer to the Network

Connect via Printer Control Panel:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless setup wizard. This will allow you to search for available networks and connect to your new Verizon router.
  • In the wireless setup wizard, select your Verizon network (SSID) from the list of available networks. Enter the Wi-Fi password for your network when prompted.
  • Once connected, print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to confirm that it is connected to the correct network.

3. Update Printer Drivers and Software

  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers and software for the HP DeskJet 3512. This can ensure compatibility with the new network setup.
  • Run the downloaded software on your computer and follow the installation instructions. Choose the option to connect the printer to your network during the setup process.

4. Check Router Settings

  • Ensure that your router is set up correctly and that it is broadcasting the 2.4 GHz band (many printers only connect to this frequency). You can usually find this setting in the router’s admin interface.
  • Make sure that MAC address filtering is not enabled on your router, as this can block new devices from connecting. If MAC filtering is enabled, add the printer’s MAC address to the allowed list.

5. Reboot Devices

  • Restart your Verizon Internet Gateway router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
  • Restart your printer by turning it off and on again. This can help reset any temporary connectivity issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
