Hello,

In need of help!

My HP ENVY 4527 printer is connected to my wireless network, which it states so on the printer, but for some unknown reason my laptop isn't picking up or connecting to it, therefore it won't print or scan. I've tried all of the different troubleshooting ideas e.g. turning on and off, installing new software packages but nothing has worked. 

The printer is probably just over a year old and to be fair, I have had quite a few problems with it. It says it's 'offline' constantly. 

I would be very grateful if anyone could suggest anything new to try, or whether the printer needs to go on the scrap heap (hoping not as it's only a year old!)

Welcome to HP forums.

 

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity.

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  2. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

  3. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

    • If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.

    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  4. If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

  5. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

  6. Try to print.

Print network configuration page.

1. Press the Wireless button on the product.

2. Press the button next to the down arrow on the display until Print Network Configuration Page is highlighted, and then press OK.

 

Set a Static IP Address

  1. Run your Web browser.
  2. In the Web browser’s address bar, type the IP address of your printer and press Enter. Assuming you entered the right address, the HP printer control panel should appear.
  3. Click the Networking tab.
  4. Under Connections, click Wired.
  5. HP Printer Static IP Address
  6. Under IP Address Configuration, click Manual IP.
  7. Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway in the appropriate boxes.
  8. Click Apply.

Update the printer firmware
