My previous ENVY 6055e recently started getting the same two error messages when printing multiple copies of double sided documents from IOS devices: (7EB158) Check printer for errors. Continue/Cancel Print Job and (7EB158) The printer is no longer available. Try again/Cancel Print Job. If I select cancel, I'll often get multiple copies of the same documents; sometime selecting 'cancel' will stop the printing. Printing was fine from my OS laptop. recentlyI purchased new OfficeJet 8015e thinking the problem was to do with the ENVY 6055e. BUT I'm getting same error messages from my iPhone 14 Pro and iPad Air 2022. Plus the copies from the OfficeJet have print issues: document may not contain all colors that are on original doc, the printed page may have some weird black ink figures on it, and information that is light on original doc (ie light yellow print etc), it is barely visible/not readable on printed copy. SO: I have 2 printers, one 1.5 yrs old and one new, neither of which prints correctly from IOS devices - I have reset all printers and IOS devices (several times) & checked wireless connections/network (all on same & ok) HOW TO FIX??? Thanks.

Hi @Birdiezz,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a complex issue with both of your HP printers (ENVY 6055e and OfficeJet 8015e) when printing from iOS devices. The fact that both printers are having similar problems suggests it might be more related to the iOS devices or the network setup rather than the printers themselves. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Update Firmware and iOS Software:
- Ensure that both printers have the latest firmware installed. You can check for firmware updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website.
- Make sure your iPhone 14 Pro and iPad Air 2022 are running the latest version of iOS/iPadOS.
Reset Printing System on iOS Devices:
- Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > Device Management and look for any printer profiles or configurations that may have been installed. Remove them if they exist.
- Reset your network settings on your iOS devices: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will also reset Wi-Fi networks and passwords, so make sure you know them before proceeding.
Check Printer Configuration:
- AirPrint Settings: Make sure the printers are properly configured for AirPrint. You can do this by checking the printer's settings via its web interface (you can access this by typing the printer's IP address into a browser).
- Disable Unnecessary Features: Some printer features or settings might cause conflicts. Try disabling features like IPv6, if available, and check if the issue persists.
Check Your Wi-Fi Network:
- Reboot Router: Restart your Wi-Fi router to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz: If your router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, try connecting your printers and iOS devices to the 2.4 GHz network. Some printers perform better on this frequency.
- Network Isolation: Ensure there’s no network isolation (e.g., guest network) that might be preventing your iOS devices from communicating properly with the printers.
Test Printing from Different Apps:
- Try printing from different apps (Safari, Mail, Notes, etc.) on your iOS devices to see if the problem occurs universally or is isolated to specific apps.
- If possible, print from a PDF viewer like Adobe Acrobat to check if the formatting and color issues persist.
Use HP Smart App for Printing:
- If you haven’t already, try printing through the HP Smart app rather than using AirPrint. The app often provides better control and compatibility with HP printers.

Review Print Settings on iOS:
- When printing, ensure that the settings for the number of copies, duplex printing, and color options are set correctly. Sometimes the default print dialog might retain previous settings.
Check for Interference:
- Bluetooth and Other Devices: Disable Bluetooth on your iOS devices temporarily and see if that makes a difference. Sometimes, Bluetooth or other wireless devices can cause interference with Wi-Fi printing.
Factory Reset and Reconfigure:
- As a last resort, you might consider performing a factory reset on the printers and setting them up again from scratch. This can sometimes clear out persistent issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
