I have just bought an HP ENVY 4520 wireless printer. I have set it up and it is connected to my router. My iPad is connected to the internet they are both connected to the same internet. The printer will not recognise the iPad when I try to send something to it for, printing. The screen on my iPad says it cannot find any Air Printers

Hi,
Sorry to hear you are having problems printing.
Try restarting your apple device - It's a simple fix that sometimes helps re-establish the connection to the printer. If this doesn't help, restart your printer also by powering it down and unplugging it for 30 seconds before powering it up again.
Other things to check would be that there have been no recent changes to the wifi password.

There's no need to disconnet the router - have you rebootted the printer also?

I have rebooted the printer and still nothing. I have however got the printer appearing in my settings now which it wasn't before. When I click on DIRECT-40-HP ENVY 4520 it asks me for a password which I don't have. How can I find the password. I have tried the network password but that doesn't work, I have tried making up a password but that doesn't work?????

Hi,
The simplest way to print wirelessly from your mobile device is to ensure that both your printer and device are connected to the same wifi network - This means connecting your devices and printer to your home network with your wifi password.
Alternatively, you can use the wireless direct funtion of your printer (You'll see this network - DIRECT-40-HP ENVY 4520) by turining on the wireless button on the front of the printer. This allows the printer generate it's own wifi singal that you can connect to through any wireless device. To find the wireless password, simply hold down the wireless direct button for more than 3 secs and it will print the password on plain paper (make sure paper is loaded).
Wireless direct has a drawback - when you connect directly to the printer it means that your device cannot also connet to the internet at the same time so the first option above is best if you already have a wireless router to connect to.
