Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a printer from a private seller, but unfortunately, I am unable to contact the seller at this moment. I would like to link the printer to my own HP account for seamless management and printing. However, it seems that the printer is still associated with the seller's HP account, making it challenging for me to fully utilize its features.
I am wondering if there is a way to send a notification to the previous owner, requesting them to remove the printer from their HP account, and if possible, to provide them with the necessary steps to do so. I have tried to search for solutions online, but I have not found a clear guide on how to handle this situation.
Any assistance or guidance on how to resolve this matter would be greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to any advice or suggestions that the community may have regarding this issue.
Thank you in advance for your time and support.
Best regards,
Omar

Hi @momarel,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've purchased a used HP printer like the Deskjet 4122e, and it's still associated with the seller's HP account, you may want to resolve this issue by following these steps.
- Contact the Seller: Even if you're having trouble contacting the seller at the moment, it's worth attempting to reach out and ask them to remove the printer from their HP account. They may be able to do this easily if they're willing to help.
- Reset the Printer: If you can't contact the seller, another option is to perform a factory reset on the printer. This will erase all previous settings, including the seller's HP account information, and allow you to set it up as if it were a new device. To do this, you may need to consult the printer's manual or HP's support website for specific instructions, as the process can vary by model.
- HP Smart App: If you have the HP Smart app installed on your mobile device, you can try to add the printer through the app. Sometimes, the app can help you manage the printer and may prompt you to reset the printer to add it to your account.
- Online HP Account Management: Log in to your own HP account, and check if there is an option to "Add a printer" or "Remove a printer." This can be done through the HP Smart website or the HP Smart app. Sometimes, you can remove a printer from your account if it's already added there.
- Change Network Settings: In some cases, the printer may be associated with the previous owner's account due to its connection to their network. Try resetting the printer's network settings and connecting it to your Wi-Fi network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
