I have multiple Apple devices, all which have worked great with this printer until today. All of the sudden all of my devices when going to print default to black and white printing with no option to select color. I’ve looked for settings to change, help and troubleshooting and can’t find anything. I’m wondering if this is an issue with a printer update or iOS update? Anyone else having issues or know what to do?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- 1) Does the copy print out the same way?
- 2) What's the application you are trying to print from?
- 3) Have you tried printing from a different application or device?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
- Open the app you are printing from.
- Select the file or photo you wish to print.
- Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down and select Print.
- Select Options to reveal available printing options.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello,
I did the printer test page, that prints color, it copies color and if I use my PC it prints color. The issue is with mobile using apple products, both iPhone and iPad have the same problem. Either using the HP SMART app or trying to print through photos in iOS. Once selected it brings up the print preview and converts it to black and white once it communicates with the printer. It doesn’t give the option to change it to color.
I tried your initial suggestion with no success.
Thank you!

Thank you for posting back.
Have you tried updating the printing app to the latest version?
What is the iOS version installed on your iPad and iPhone?
Alternately, use AirPrint: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1946968-1947068-16 to print from your iPhone or iPad.
Keep me posted!

Hello,
I am running the latest version of the HP Smart app 9.2.1. I’m also running the latest version iOS 15.5 on the iPhone and iPad. It won’t AirPrint in color either. Two of the screenshots posted to this thread are through the HP Smart app and the other two screenshots are through AirPrint.
Thank you!

Are you done trying to help me fix my printer issue? It is still NOT FIXED! I just had an update to my HP Smart app. Nothing was resolved with this update. I still DO NOT have anyway to print in color, only black. Please do not just ghost me on this please.
