HP Officejet Pro 8730
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Been trying for hours to setup Web Services / ePrint on my new 8730... can't get a Claim Code to show up as the printer keeps freezing. Keep getting this error when trying to update firmware, software and activate web services.

** Web Services has been disabled!  Contact your administrator or the person who set up the printer.  **

I can connect to wireless and ethernet connection but still can't get a Claim Code :X

Have since read plenty of posts, done resets back to factory default and keep getting to the HP connect terms of use and won't proceed any futher...

I want to tray hard reset before taking back to the store for a refund... if a HP rep and provide the details and link on how to please do so, that'd be great.

but the anwer was a sem-full reset as per the 8740...

If you dont see any option for Restore Factory Settings on your OJ 8740 printer, you can try doing these steps:

Note: This will literally restore all of the printer's settings, and you will need to do the "Out of the box" setup after the reset.

  1. Press Power button to turn the Printer On.
  2. Press BL, BL, BL, BL Buttons, in sequence. (BL stands for Bottom Left. Normally the button on the bottom left is the back arrow. And you need to do this while the front panel of the printer is on the Home screen)
  3. Touch Support Menu.
  4. Select Reset Menu and Touch OK.
  5. Select Semi-Full Reset and Touch OK.
  6. Wait for unit to Power Down/Turn Off.
  7. Press Power button to turn the Printer On.
