When I tap on either of the icons for the 2 printers I actually have,I get to a settings page.  However, when I tap on the icon for the printer I do not have, the page does not change.

The problem icon is for a printer that an HP employee mistakenly sent. I did not want it  and returned it  unopened.  The icon says "Complete Setup".

Hi @ArtK

It sounds like the printer icon stuck in "Complete Setup" mode is causing some frustration.

Since the usual steps to remove it aren't working, here are some alternative approaches to remove the problematic printer icon from your HP Smart app:

Reset the HP Smart App:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app from your iPhone.
  • Reinstall it from the App Store.
  • Log back into your HP account and check if the unwanted printer icon has been removed. Sometimes reinstalling the app can refresh its settings.

Clear Printer History:

  • Check if there's an option within the HP Smart app to clear printer history or reset the app. This can sometimes remove lingering or incomplete setup icons.

HP Account Settings:

  • Log into your HP account through a browser at HP's website.
  • Navigate to the devices or printers section in your account settings.
  • See if the unwanted printer is listed there and remove it manually.

Check for App Updates:

  • Ensure that the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version. Sometimes bugs are resolved in newer updates.

Let me know how it goes.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
