HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer
iOS

Printer was running low on ink. Both color and black were replaced (Genuine HP). Colors were off. Ran clean cartridges several times, problem still persisted. Replaced color cartridge again. Printed a test yesterday, double-sided. Everything fine. Today tried to print one double sided page; however, only printed one side and stopped.

Hi @La5775,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing some issues with your HP ENVY 5055 printer. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that both the black and color ink cartridges have sufficient ink. Sometimes, even new cartridges can be faulty or have low ink levels. You can check the ink levels through the printer software on your computer or directly on the printer's display panel.
  • Clean Printheads: Run the printhead cleaning utility on your printer. This can usually be done through the printer's control panel or through the printer software on your computer. This helps to clear any clogs in the printheads that might be affecting print quality.
  • Align Cartridges: Check if your printer has an option to align the cartridges. This ensures that the ink is distributed properly and can improve print quality.
  • Update Printer Firmware/Software: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware and software updates. Manufacturers often release updates that address performance issues and improve overall functionality.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Even a small piece of paper stuck in the printer can cause printing problems.
  • Double-Sided Printing Settings: If you are having issues with double-sided printing, check the printer settings both on your computer and on the printer itself. Ensure that double-sided printing is selected and that the settings match on both sides (e.g., if you are using manual duplexing).
  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers on your computer. Corrupted or outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing problems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
