Using for the first time my direct bb hp deskjet 3700 series with my iPad. The screen is asking for a password. I don’t have a password. The printer has been previously used successfully by other members of the family with a Mac. Any solution?

If you are trying to connect the iPad and the printer using WiFi direct, the default password would be 12345678

If the WiFi Direct password has been changed, print a Wireless configuration report to find the WiFi Direct password.

  1. On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button  and the Information button  at the same time.
  2. Note: There will be no Internet access on the iPad when you use WiFi Direct.
  3. On the Apple device, open Settings, tap Wi-Fi, select your Wi-Fi Direct printer name from the list of available networks, and then enter the password.

  4. Open the item you want to print, and then tap Print from the app or action menu.

  5. Select your printer, and then tap Print.

  6. Reconnect to your local Wi-Fi network after the print job completes.

Let me know how this goes.
