HP photosmart C3100 printer has a usb connection to mac destop computer and has stopped printing, showing a message “idle.” I followed the steps suggested on HP website - unplugged printer, replugged after waiting over 60 seconds and tried printing. Now message says “Error, last used,”
and printer power button keeps flashing.
Any suggestions how to get printer working again?

Hi @Mazz9,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
Solution one: Reset the All-in-One
Follow these steps to reset the product, and then test the scanner.
Step 1: Reset the All-in-One
Follow these steps in the order given to reset the product.
Press the Power button to turn off the product.
Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
Step 2: Make a color copy
Follow these steps to test the scanning capability of the product by making a color copy.
Lift the scanner lid, and place any document on the scanner glass.
Close the scanner lid.
Press the Start Copy Color button .
While the product is copying, open the lid and watch the scanner bar.
If the scanner bar is not moving, or if the scanner light is off or dull, the scanner has failed.
If the product successfully completes the color copy, and the control panel lights are not blinking, there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
If the color copy fails, and the control panel lights are blinking, continue with the next solution.
Solution two: Service the All-in-One
If you have completed all the steps and are still experiencing a problem, continue to the Service the All-in-One section at the end of this document.
