Hi @anurag4org,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’re having trouble with the HP Print Anywhere feature not working when your HP printer is connected to an Airtel fiber optic router, but it works with a mobile hotspot. This suggests that the issue might be related to the router’s configuration or network settings. Here’s a detailed troubleshooting guide to address this problem:

1. Verify Router Settings

Check Network Configuration:

  • Network Isolation: Some routers have a feature called "AP Isolation" or "Client Isolation" that can prevent devices from communicating with each other on the same network. Ensure this feature is turned off.
  • Guest Network: Ensure that the printer and your devices are on the same network. If you're using a guest network, switch to the primary network.

Firewall Settings:

  • Check Firewall: Your router’s firewall might be blocking communication. Review the firewall settings on your router and consider temporarily lowering security settings to see if that resolves the issue.

2. Verify Printer Network Configuration

Check Printer’s IP Address:

  • Ensure your printer has a valid IP address assigned by the router. Print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to verify.

Network Test:

  • Perform a network test from the printer’s control panel to ensure it is connected properly to your network.

3. Update Router Firmware

Check for Updates:

  • Visit the router manufacturer’s website and check if there is a firmware update available. Sometimes, updating the router’s firmware can resolve compatibility issues.

4. Check for Printer Firmware Updates

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Check for updates on the HP Support website and follow the instructions to update the firmware.

5. Reset Network Settings on the Printer

Reset Network Settings:

  • Access the printer’s network settings from the control panel and perform a network reset or reconfigure the network settings.

6. Reconfigure HP Print Anywhere

Reconfigure the Feature:

  • Turn Off and On: Turn off HP Print Anywhere, wait a few minutes, and then turn it back on.
  • Reconfigure Printer: Remove and re-add your printer from the HP Smart app or your HP account to refresh its connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Rachel571,

Thanks for the response and detailed steps, Unfortunately I've already tried almost every step but still its not working.

And one main point to highlight is , if I configure the printer wifi with this router , printing works fine. Its only remote printing not working.

Let me explain with an example:

1) Configure the printer with airtel router wifi (ip:192.168.1.4)

2) Connect the mobile device with airtel router wifi (ip:192.168.1.2)

3) Try to print and it worked perfectly

4) Now sign in on mobile device and configure print anywhere.

5) Go to another device , login with same id and connect to 5g network

6) Cloud printing seems ok and green with tick mark

7) Try to print, it never worked

Now configure the printer with mobile hotspot wifi

1) Configure the printer with mobile hotspot wifi (ip:192.168.1.10)

2) Connect the mobile device with mobile hotspot wifi (ip:192.168.1.2)

3) Try to print and it worked perfectly

4) Now sign in on mobile device and configure print anywhere.

5) Go to another device , login with same id and connect to 5g network

6) Cloud printing seems ok and green with tick mark

7) Try to print, it  worked fine.

In summary , printing work within same wifi but remote printing not working with airtel router on the other hand printing as well as remote printing both working with mobile hotspot wifi.

I hope it clarifies.
