Hi @Christine20161,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Printing from your Galaxy A04e to an HP DeskJet 2320 using a USB cable without involving a laptop can be a bit tricky, but it’s possible with the right setup. Here’s how you can do it.

Check for USB OTG Support

  • OTG Cable: You need a USB On-The-Go (OTG) adapter that allows you to connect a USB device (like a printer) to your smartphone.
  • Smartphone Compatibility: Make sure your Galaxy A04e supports USB OTG. You can check this in the phone’s settings or by looking up the specifications.

Install the Printer App

  • HP Smart App: Download the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store. This app helps with printer setup and management.
  • HP Print Service Plugin: You might also need to install the HP Print Service Plugin from the Play Store for your device to recognize the printer.

Connect Your Devices

  • Using OTG Adapter: Connect the OTG adapter to your Galaxy A04e, then connect the USB cable from your HP DeskJet 2320 to the OTG adapter.

Configure Printing Settings

  • Open HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app, and it should detect your printer. If it doesn’t, make sure the printer is powered on and properly connected.
  • Print Document: Once the printer is recognized, you should be able to select the document or photo you want to print from the app.

Print Your Document

  • Select Print Option: Choose the document or photo you wish to print, configure the print settings as desired, and initiate the print job from the app.

Note:

  • Printer Compatibility: Ensure that your printer is compatible with the HP Smart app and the Print Service Plugin.
  • Firmware Update: Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can improve compatibility with mobile devices.

If the HP Smart app doesn’t detect your printer or if you encounter issues, check if your printer has a direct USB printing option or any specific app requirements mentioned in its manual.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
