Printer is working, I can print from my WindowsPC, and my iPhone 15 w/ iOS18.
On My iPad Pro with iPadOS 18 I get the password prompt.
tried 12345678, network password, and text I found in the printer network report.
None worked
Same iss with my wife's iPhoneSE(22) on iOS 18
After installing HP Smart it never finishes comes back with "UNABLE to REGISTER PRINTER to YOUR Account"
Possible account issue I had 2 HP Accounts (not sure why, think I just forgot I had one.)
Connected with someone at HP they said they would delete one.
1. mikedf51@**bleep**.com logged in here with this one.
2. Mikef29**bleep** - I think this one was deleted - does not work anymore
Not sure if I had anything registered using Mikef29**bleep**
ok getting connected using mikedf51@**bleep**.com THAT was the one that was supposed to be deleted.
Still can enter my mobile number because it says it registered to another login. BUT it should have been deleted?????
I also am registered with Instant Ink

Hi @MikeF51,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Network Connection
- Ensure the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Confirm your devices (iPad and iPhone) are on the same network.
Printer Password Issue
- Verify that your printer's Wi-Fi Direct password is correct. This is often different from your regular network password.
- Generate the Wi-Fi Direct information report from your printer, which includes the correct password.
Reset Printer Network Settings
- Resetting the printer’s network settings can help resolve connectivity barriers. You can typically do this from the printer’s control panel under network settings.
Reinstall HP Smart App
- Uninstall the HP Smart app, reboot your devices, and reinstall the app.
- This can sometimes fix registration or connection issues caused by initial setup problems.
Account Issues
- If you have multiple HP accounts, try consolidating them into one to avoid account conflicts.
- Use the HP Support website to manage or merge accounts if needed.
- Ensure that the email used to register with HP Smart is consistent across devices.
I hope this helps.
