  • I am trying to add a printer back to Instant Ink that was previously on my account but had been removed because of an error.
  • I have tried to replace the instant ink printer on my account by going to https://instantink.hpconnected.com/us/en/n/replacement/#####/printer_claim_with_series/48/claim and tried to enter the claim code on my primary printer, but get an error "Printer code not recognized. Try again."
  • The printer will not print the info page with the claim code because it has instant ink cartridges installed.
  • I have tried the steps at https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05279891 to resolve this issue, including turning web services on and off. This doesn't help because my printer's email address is the same every time.

How do  I fix this? Thanks!

After resetting my printer to factory default settings, I was able to find an instant ink claim code. The claim was not the first part of my printer's email address, like support articles suggest!

I tapped the gear icon, then scrolled down to Printer Code (Claim Code). I typed that code into the Instant Ink webpage and that worked.
