Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just received my Printer/ fax from a friend and I am not able to connect it to the internet. I am trying to find out how to access the printer claim code. Do I need the printer claim code to enable my printer to connect to the internet for all the functionality to be enabled through HP Smart services program? If yes, how do I get the printer claim code. I have learned that my device is no longer covered by the warranty.

Since it is a secondhand printer, the claim code may be already used. But please try
