Hello,
Someone please help. I have had no end of problems with my printer since I bought it last year and I am seriously just going to throw it in the bin.
Day before yesterday I printed 20 pages off. Today I am unable to print, printer says Offline. Laptop is connected to the internet, the wifi on printer settings says connected and shows an IP address, yet unable to print.
I have noticed the IP address is not in the normally format of 192.168.0.x.
The printer has IP address of [edit] I am unable to type this into browser to create a manual on. Also, not able to create manual on printer.
I have used the scan doctor app, and still nothing, I have downloaded another app, that HP list and that can't connect even with IP address or printer name.
I have removed it from laptop and reinstalled and still nothing.
All other devices are connected in wifi fine (laptop, tablets and phones.)
Thanks

@medavidcook1, Welcome to HP Support Community!
- Make sure the printer and the devices are connected to the same wireless network.
- This printer supports only 2.4GHz network.
Restore network defaults and Reconfigure the wireless settings-
Access the Wireless Setup Wizard through the printer control panel to establish a wireless connection between your printer and network.
-
From the home screen of your printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon
-
Touch the Setup icon
-
Touch Restore Network Defaults or Restore Network Settings, and then touch Yes to confirm your selection.
-
After the default network settings are restored, touch the back arrow, touch Wireless Settings, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
The printer searches for available networks.
-
Touch the name of your wireless network.
-
If your wireless network does not display in the list of wireless networks, touch Enter New Network Name, and then type the name of your wireless network.
NOTE:
Type the exact network name, including any uppercase and lowercase letters.
-
Type the WEP or WPA key (network password), and then touch Done.
If you do not know your network password, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password.
Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates.
For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.
Now, remove the printer completely from your computer and reinstall it. Here is how you do it-
1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2) Select your HP Printer
3) Select Uninstall
4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”
😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10) Select Ok
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12) Close Devices and Printers.
Download and install the full-featured software from here.
Try printing and scanning 🙂
Additionally, disable the IPv6 on your printer and then assign a public DNS. Here are the steps:
• Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
• Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
• Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
• Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
• Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
• Click on the radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address).
