Hello everyone !
My printer and scanner
HPC77A29
Hp Deskjet 2540 series
After turning off the printer, and turning it off again, it always appears offline in my printers and I need to directly remove it from my devices and connect it again.
Any ideas why and how can I fix it ?

Thanks for visiting the HP community. A very good day to you! I read the post regarding issues with the printer disconnecting from the wireless network frequently. I will be delighted to assist you here.
You’ve done an excellent job of diagnosing the issue from your end. Superb effort and spectacular research were done as well. Kudos to you on that score. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂
To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this:
- Did this happen after a recent software or operating system update?
- Did you run HP print and scan doctor?
For now, try these steps:
Please perform a hard reset on the printer from this link: https://hp.care/2jZ523j by following instructions from the section “Step 1: Reset the printer.
- Then update the printer’s firmware by following instructions from this link: https://hp.care/2rHKwDD
- Run HP print and scan doctor from this link: https://hp.care/2b4bUIM
and check if the issue gets fixed.
If it continues, then perform all these steps from this link: https://hp.care/2uEf2yB (HP Printers - Printer Not Found During Network Driver Setup (Windows)
- Step 1: Restart the computer, printer, and router
- Step 2: Check the network and printer connection status
- Step 3: Manually connect the printer to your network (wireless connections only)/ this step is very important. There is an associated video on how to do it.
- Step 5: Temporarily disable firewall software on the computer
This should fix the issue.
- If it continues, then perform all the prescribed steps from this link: https://hp.care/2tvYj4f (HP Printers - Printer is Offline (Windows)
- Reinstall the printer software option under the section “other things to try” is very important from this document.
- This should fix the issue for you.
Perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. Good luck to you. I will keep a watch for your response.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care and have a blessed week ahead. 🙂

For now, after completing all steps, the printer seems to be working perfectly !
Don't know what exactly fixed the problem. However, if I will get disconnect issues from wi-fi in the future, am I supposed to post reply to this post again, or make a new one ? 🙂
Anyways, thx for the support !
