My printer has recently started repeatedly printing documents I don't recognise - it started with the HP Network Configuration Page and then just endless prints of some sort of Virgin media thing. My first guess was that a neighbour had accidentally connected to my printer and was just spamming the print job when it didn't print from their printer, but there was nothing in the queue. I then went online and changed the it so only my email can print remotely, but this doesn't seem to have done anything. I can't do anything on the printer itself, like disconnecting it from the internet, because the printing window keeps coming up and blocking all the options, and when I cancel it it goes to the main menu, and then two seconds later the printing window pops up again - not even removing all the paper prevents this. I don't think this is related but adding it just in case: the printer also occassionally makes weird noises and thinks the paper is jammed when it isn't, again this only started today. Is there anything else I could try?

Hi @MorganArrow,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY 5640 E-All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update the printer firmware
