Top 5mm is missing from a printed page. I am printing a form that has important data at the top. I can only see the bottom half of the data on screen before printing and the same when the page is printed.

Hi @Badgerdavis
Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query in this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
I reviewed your post and I understand that the top of the page is missing few lines.
I’d love to help!
I recommend you to change the page settings before printing and check the print preview. What is shown in the print preview is what the printer will print. Usually, these settings will be in the application from which you will be printing.
Follow the steps in the below link to make changes to the page settings.

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried to do as you suggested but when I select the page for presets I get a list of options, starting "Current" then "Default settings" then "Last used settings" etc. To the right of that list is a field showing "Setting" with a list of options starting "Copies & Pages" but when I select any of this list, nothing happens. There is nowhere for me to see or amend the settings. Can you help please?

Thank you for your advice.
When I change the print setting, the printer reduces the size of the doc so it fits on the page, but I have been told that the form must be printed at exactly the size sent to me. So, at present I cannot solve the problem with my HP printer. I have sent the form to another person and she has printed it successfully, so the need in this case is satisfied. However it would be helpful if you could tell the HP design people about the problem. I have had years of problems with a message coming up that something is outside the printable area. I found online that lots of people have that problem - a printer saying it cannot print the whole page or (as in this case) the printer going ahead but missing part of the page. I hope future software and/or printers might be easier.
I know this is outside your advisory role and I am grateful for your effort to help.
Best regards
Michael

@Badgerdavis, thanks for the reply.
Thanks for trying out the steps.
This is an issue many people have with Google Chrome and quite often they can't resolve it they just simply switch to a different browser.
Try Internet Explorer or Firefox and see if you get better results.
Printer Properties (Print Dialog Box) and Effects tab to choose the 'Resizing Options'.
Select "print at actual size" and check if it works.
Let me know how it goes!
Happy weekend! 🙂
