Hi @bleilerd,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer is connected to the internet but shows as offline when trying to print, here are a few steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Printer Status:
- Ensure the printer is powered on and not in sleep mode.
- Check the printer's display for any error messages or warnings.
Restart Printer and Devices:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Restart your computer.
- Turn off your router, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Verify Network Connection:
- Make sure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. You can print a network configuration page from the printer to check the connection details.
- Ensure your computer is connected to the same network as the printer.
Set Printer to Online:
- On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP ENVY 5530 printer and select See what's printing.
- In the window that opens, click Printer in the menu bar and uncheck Use Printer Offline.
Update Printer Driver:
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your HP ENVY 5530 printer.
- Install the drivers and restart your computer.
Check Print Spooler Service:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find Print Spooler in the list, right-click on it, and select Restart.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This tool can automatically diagnose and fix many printing and scanning issues.
Re-add the Printer:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Remove the HP ENVY 5530 printer by right-clicking and selecting Remove device.
- Click Add a printer and follow the prompts to re-add the printer.
Firewall and Security Software:
- Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your computer to see if it is blocking the printer.
