Hi @oso1980,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Troubleshooting connectivity issues between your HP printer and Apple AirPrint can involve several steps. Here's a guide to help you resolve the problem.
- Check Printer Connectivity: Ensure that your HP printer is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac). You can verify this by printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel.
- Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your HP printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP support website.
- Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix connectivity issues. Restart both your HP printer and your Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac).
- Check AirPrint Compatibility: Ensure that your HP printer model supports Apple AirPrint. Not all HP printers are compatible with AirPrint. You can find a list of AirPrint-compatible printers on Apple's website or HP's support page.
- Check Wi-Fi Signal: Make sure that the Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable where both your HP printer and Apple device are located. Weak Wi-Fi signals can cause connectivity issues.
- Reset Network Settings: On your HP printer, you can reset the network settings to factory defaults and set up the Wi-Fi connection again. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to reset network settings.
- Update iOS/macOS: Ensure that your Apple device is running the latest version of iOS (for iPhone and iPad) or macOS (for Mac). Updates often include bug fixes and improvements related to printing.
- Forget Printer Network: On your Apple device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, find your printer's network, and select "Forget This Network." Then reconnect to the printer's network and try printing again.
- Check Printer Queue: Sometimes, a print job may get stuck in the queue, preventing new print jobs from being processed. Open the print queue on your Apple device and cancel any pending print jobs.
- Reinstall Printer Driver (Mac): If you're using a Mac, you can try removing and re-adding the printer in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the connectivity issues between your HP printer and Apple AirPrint.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
