We have several phones, tablets and laptops connected to our Envy 5055 printer. We can't seem to print anything directly from a source, we have to print it through the HP Smart app in which case it works fine. However, we can't use the app when trying to print checks in quickbooks and a couple other programs. How do I solve this? Thx for any feedback

Install the basic drivers on the Computer and try printing: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-envy-5000-all-in-one-printer-series/14...

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately it did not work. It has become a pretty frustrating issue as I cannot print our paychecks through quickbooks. The link you sent over was for a 32 bit system, we have a 64 put I tried the 64 bit driver and also tried reinstalling the HP Smart app and it still doesn't work. Documents print just fine through the app, but I can't print any other way. The warranty expired in January as well otherwise we'd try and go that route.

Since you're able to print other documents. I recommend you contact the QuickBooks Support Team regarding this.

Hello again,
I've spent some time trying different things here. I don't think it's a quickbooks issue, it will not print from my internet browser either. It pretty much will not print from anything but the hp app. Thx, and hope you're well

Let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
