Hi @One10,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP printer says it's busy but isn't actually printing, there are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can often clear out temporary errors.
Check for Paper Jams: Even if the printer is not showing a paper jam error, check the paper tray and the rear access door (if applicable) for any stuck paper or debris that might be causing the issue.
Clear Print Queue (Windows): If you're printing from a Windows computer, clear the print queue:
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select "See what's printing."
- Click on "Printer" in the top menu and select "Cancel All Documents."
- Confirm to clear the print queue.
Clear Print Queue (Mac): If you're printing from a Mac:
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer from the list.
- Click on the "Open Print Queue" button.
- Click on "Jobs" in the top menu and choose "Clear Jobs" or "Reset Printing System" to clear the queue.
Check Printer Status Lights: Look for any error lights or messages on the printer's control panel. Clearing those errors might resolve the busy status.
Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download any available firmware updates.
Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, restarting your computer can resolve communication issues between the computer and printer.
Check Network Connection: If your printer is connected over a network, ensure that the network connection is stable and that the printer's IP address hasn't changed unexpectedly.
Reset the Printer: As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to your printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions specific to your model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
