Yes HP does still have traditional fax machines as well as multi-function printers that support faxing as well.  You can find more information on the mutifunctions printers here.  You can find more information on the single function fax machines here.

Hello iep,

Well...Yes there are printers that do not require a computer to use, but, no, they do not use phone lines to get there information.  The printers that will work without a computer are listed here.  On that list the PhotoSmart printers and the OfficeJet printers can be put on a wireless network without a computer.  The LaserJet and DeskJet lines require a computer to connect wirelessly, but can work fine without one after the setup is done.  All of the printers require a network with a 24 hour active internet connection in order to work with ePrint properly.

I am looking for printers that will receive emails without any internet interface  -- at most a phone line or cell phone network.  The idea is to have a non-computer user at home be able to receive an email or a PDF newsletter or something else sent to him.  I visualize something FREE like radio.

No there is nothing like that available.  To the best of my knowledge, there are no plans for this type of function either.  Sorry.

Thanks for your quick response.  I imagine that what I want will be available someday.  I have looked at Celery and Presto, but they have a monthly charge.  I'm going to check out old phone-line fax machines for at least sending hard-copy print-outs of emails and newsletters.  Does HP on anyone have a computerless, non-internet, phone-line fax machine that I should look at?

I wonder if you found anything, even a paid service. We have used presto.com but they are going out of business. mycelery.com has a really scary review on the BBB website and that is the only review I can find.

Even if the HP A10 (used by presto) protocol was published, maybe I could rig something up myself. I am not sure.

I just set it up so there might be pitfalls yet, but HP eprint with FreedomPop hotspot seems to be working so far. See:
