Hi @Reen4,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer isn't printing from your phone, there are a few common issues that could be causing the problem. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Ensure the Printer is Connected to the Network
- Check Network Connection: Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. The printer should be on and connected to the network, not in offline or sleep mode.Restart Devices: Try restarting your printer, phone, and Wi-Fi router to refresh the network connection.
2. Verify the Printer's Mobile Printing Capability
- Printer Compatibility: Confirm that your printer supports mobile printing. For HP printers, this often means support for HP ePrint, HP Smart, AirPrint (for iOS), or other mobile printing standards.
3. Use the Correct App
- Printing App: Ensure you are using the correct app for printing. For HP printers, the HP Smart app is recommended. Download it from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) if you haven't already.
4. Check Printer Status and Settings
- Printer Status: Make sure the printer is ready to print and not showing any error messages (like paper jams, low ink, etc.).
- Mobile Print Settings: Open the HP Smart app (or your printer's equivalent app) and check the print settings. Ensure your printer is selected as the default printer.
5. Update Printer Firmware and App
- Firmware Update: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates.
- App Update: Make sure you are using the latest version of the HP Smart app or your printer’s specific app.
6. Check Permissions and Connectivity
- Permissions: Ensure that the printing app has the necessary permissions to access your phone’s storage, files, or photos, depending on what you’re trying to print.
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct: If your printer supports Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct printing, ensure these features are enabled and your phone is connected to the printer directly.
7. Use a Different File or App
- Test with Different File: Try printing a different document or photo to see if the issue is with a specific file type or app.
- Print from Another App: Try using a different app to print, such as Google Docs, PDF viewers, or photo galleries.
8. Check for Network Issues
- Wi-Fi Network: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly and has adequate signal strength. Sometimes, network issues can prevent your devices from communicating effectively.
9. Reinstall the App
- Reinstall Printing App: If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app or the relevant mobile printing app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
