I am trying to set up the printer in my work office to the network. We have two HP printers and the other one is connected without issues. The printer I am having issues with used to be connected to the network before we had new computers. The printer is old and there are no drivers available for it on the HP site. I attempted downloading driver from elsewhere but I did not have luck. I'm not sure if I did it correctly because I'm not a tech person who knows all of the ins and outs of this. The printer is an HP Laser jet pro 400 m401n. It is connected with the cord that came with it to the router. The ready light does turn on the printer when I hold down the "x" button. The printer will print test pages but nothing from the computer. The serial number is not recognized on the HP site at all or when I call for tech support over the phone. HPs phone support is a joke. I'm currently on hold with their Elite line, whatever that means, as I hope for a real human. The serial number is : [edited] It has a card inserted in the side panel that allows it to have wi fi printing capabilities and has worked that way in the past. I have been troubleshooting by myself with the internet for about 6 hours and  I have gotten nowhere except printing some test pages. I downloaded the HP smart app, and that made me feel more stupid because they don't even recognize the printer at all. It's as if the printer isn't theirs and belongs to another company. This is very frustrating .I need help. My computer is an Ipad and is running with Windows 11, if I didn't mention that. Please help if you can in any way!!! Also, please note, there is no LCD screen or Setup Wizard so please don't respond with that. It has a screen like a calculator from elementary school and very few options . I did set up the IP address on there as instructed. I believe that is all of the information I have.

  2. Setup Wifi using an android phone - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVD26PMyTBE
  3. Setup using your computer- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-kiWyiXjc4

Hope this helps!

I am an HP Employee. Although I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
