The first time we used the printer it was connected to our ipad hotspot. Now we are trying to connect to our wifi in our house. The printer will recognize the ipad, but will not connect to the router. Have unplugged restarted both several times.

Any help appreciated.

@Brown55

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand you are unable to connect the printer to a wireless network,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Have you ensured the printer software has been installed?

Did you download it from the HP website or the printer disc?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

Step 1: Prepare for installation

Before installing the printer software and connecting to your wireless network, check the requirements, turn on the computer and the router, and set up the printer.

  1. To use your printer on a wireless network, you need the following items:

    • A computer connected to your wireless network

    • Internet access: HP recommends broadband Internet access such as cable or DSL for software downloads, using Web Services, and getting printer updates.

  2. Make sure the router and computer are turned on, and that the computer is connected to the same wireless network to which you want to connect the printer.

  3. Set up the printer, load paper into the input tray, and install the ink cartridges. For more information about setting up the printer, go to First Time Printer Setup.

  4. Turn on the printer and place it close to the computer and within range of the router during the setup procedure.

Step 2: Install the printer software

On the computer you want to print from, start the software installation, and then download and install the HP full feature print driver. It contains the wireless print drivers, as well as HP Printer Assistant software for scanning and other printer management functions.

  1. Disconnect any USB cables from the printer.

  2. Go to 123.hp.com/dj2600, and then click Download to download and run HP Easy Start.

  3. When prompted to select your printer, click My Printer Is Not Shown.

A Printer Not Found screen displays.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

Keep me posted,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

We have had the printer for about 2 months. When we first set it up, we were traveling in our RV so used our IPad hotspot to use the printer. I even downloaded the app for my phone and printed just fine. It prints from both Mac computers and Iphone from Ipad hotspot.

Now we are in our home and using the wifi in our house. Everything that needs wifi connects and works fine. We brought the printer into the house and it will not connect to the wifi. Is there a factory reset for the printer? How can I get it to forget the Ipad hotspot.

Thank you!

Hi @Brown55,

I read the quick response. Thanks for the reply. As @Riddle_Decipher is out of office for today, I am responding on his behalf. You've displayed commendable patience, brilliant efforts and a terrific resolve to try and fix the issueKudos to you for that. 🙂

Please restore network defaults on the printer by following the steps from this user guide: http://hp.care/2hGof9x Please refer to page#69 on how to do it.

Please reset the Mac printing system after that by following the steps from this link: http://hp.care/2gOrf2g

Then follow these steps to add the printer.

Click the Apple menu icon, and then click System Preferences.

2.) Click Printers and Scanners, Print and Scan, or Print and Fax.

3.) In the Printers list, click your HP printer, and then click the Minus button to delete it.

4.) Click the Add button.

5.) Find, and then select the name of your printer from the Printer list, and then click Add to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.

6.) Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select the name of your printer.

7.). Select only the HP printer driver and nothing else for now. Once the correct HP driver is chosen, select Add to add the printer to the list.

8.) Try to print.

Now  assign a manual IP address to the printer by following the steps mentioned in this youtube link: http://hp.care/2tV7I4y

Now try to print. This should fix the issue.

For further assistance refer to pages 61 to 74 of the same user guide. It gives an option to convert a USB connection to a wireless connection. This might come in handy.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient. Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat. 🙂

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care and have a superb week ahead. 🙂

Changed internet provider from EE to NowTv. I have an HP P1102w printer and can’t connect it to my WiFi. I uninstalled the software thinking I would be taken through the setup again, this doesn’t work. I have arrived at a webpage on numerous occasions offering telephone assistance for 19.99 $

@Gs211, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To assist you better, I'd like to know the following-

Is there any error message when you try to connect the printer to WiFi?

Was it previously connected to any other network?

What is the make and model of your router?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
