Hi @24Julius

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

No, you do not have to use the HP Smart app to print. You can print directly from your HP DeskJet 2700 printer using several methods without needing the app. However, the HP Smart app can provide additional features such as managing printer settings, checking ink levels, scanning, and troubleshooting, which can enhance your overall experience.

Ways to Print Without the HP Smart App:

1. Direct Printing from Your Computer

You can print directly from your computer by using your printer’s standard print settings:

Windows:

  1. Open the document or image you want to print.
  2. Press Ctrl + P (or select File > Print).
  3. In the print dialog, choose your HP DeskJet 2700 as the selected printer.
  4. Adjust any settings (like page size, number of copies, etc.), and click Print.

Mac:

  1. Open the document you want to print.
  2. Select File > Print from the top menu.
  3. Choose your HP DeskJet 2700 from the printer list.
  4. Set the print preferences and click Print.

2. Printing from Mobile Devices (Without the App)

Even without the HP Smart app, you can print from a mobile device via wireless printing methods like AirPrint (iOS) or Google Cloud Print (Android), as long as your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

For iPhone or iPad (AirPrint):

  1. Open the document or image you want to print.
  2. Tap the Share icon and select Print.
  3. Choose your HP DeskJet 2700 as the printer.
  4. Tap Print to send the document to the printer.

For Android:

  1. Open the document or image.Tap the three dots or menu icon and select Print.
  2. Ensure your HP DeskJet 2700 is selected.Tap Print.

3. Printing from a USB Drive (If Supported)

Some printers, depending on the model, support printing directly from a USB flash drive. However, the HP DeskJet 2700 does not have this feature, so this option isn’t available on your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
