LaserJet M15w
Android 8.0 Oreo and older

I can print on the M15w files stored on my Android phone through the HP smart app, with no problem. The prints get there via a router connection.

But when I try printing from within an Android browser (Chrome), it finds the printer available on Wifi Direct (not the router), the print is sent to the spool and gets stuck there. It never arrives at the printer even if I connect the phone on to the WiFi direct of the M15w.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Did you try any other browser?

You can switch off the Wi-Fi Direct: Follow page number 28: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05646631

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accept as solution" button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!

No, It doesn't work. I had already tried it. It still shows the printer on the available list under direct connect, but now it shows it as OFF LINE... By the way, I also have an M12w connected on the same network and it work fine from the browser. It is connecting through cloud print...

No. I have no interest in using another browser (except for Brave which is an ad-free version of Chrome). Chrome is the native browser in Android, and connects me to all my Google infrastructure automatically. And as I said, I have no problem printing on my HP M12m from the Chrome browser (via cloud print)... What is the matter with the M15w? That  is what I want to know!

HP Smart app allows you to print only PDF and Word documents from your Android device.

Kindly install the HP Print Service Plugin and try printing. Click here to know how.

Let me know how this goes.

Thanks. I know what HP Smart does. And I have the HP Service Plug in installed (otherwise the UP Smart wouldn't work). When I run the HP service plug in and I give it my network address for the M15w it responds "Printer software problem. The printer software does not support the selected printer, Check for updates at your device's app market or contact the pinter manufacturer."
