Using an HP Chromebook 14-ak041dx and an HP OfficeJet Pro 8720, I cannot manage to print from the Chromebook to the printer. I have tried with the printer hardwired to the network and with the printer connected to wifi. I have tried with the Chromebook connected with a USB and connected with wifi. I have tried HP Print for Chrome and Google Cloud Print. I have tried to connect to the printer automatically (letting the Chromebook find it) and manually connecting it. No luck on any front.

When I try Google Cloud Print, and I try to register my printer, I can only get as far as clicking "confirm" on the Chromebook. Then the printer never shows anything on its screen, nor does it print a page with instructions.

When I try anything else, the Chromebook tells me that there was an error during printing, and when I click "Get Help" on the Chromebook's notification bubble, nothing opens up.

I'm at a complete loss! What else should I try?

I've since been able to get the USB connection to work successfully for printing. However wireless still does not work, even with HP Print for Chrome. It's a good-enough-for-now solution.
