When trying to print from Ipad or Iphone to my HP277 wireless printer the only paper option is a #10 envelope. Have spoken to Apple and they were unable to correct the problem so leads me to believe it is a printer setting but I haven't been able to find where to make the change
The printer in another room HP 477 will print it on correct size paper

If this is your printer,
HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw
I can perhaps point you in the direction to set the paper defaults for the printer.
Note: The following EWS setup is similar on many printers, regardless of type (laser or inkjet) and model (exact printer).
I would guess the printer is set up for paper used in a past configuration / job.
Regardless, you can check / adjust the paper settings "back to normal".
Perhaps adjusting the paper settings on the printer will help the jobs coming in from iPad / iPhone.
Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to configure and manage your printer.
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
tab System
Paper setup, including default paper types and paper handling.

You should have at least a modicum of control of the configuration on the iPad; I am sorry that is not the case.
I have not had this type of issue; I cannot "see" the problem from your perspective.
The how-to indicates that the HP Smart App (when installed on the iPad) can manage Tray and Paper Settings.
Using the HP Smart App (Android, Apple iOS)
Excerpted:
Step 3: Manage printer settings, status, and supplies
- Tap your printer to change printer settings, view printer information and reports, and more.
So, if it is not working, what else to try?
- Check under each of the other categories in the My Printer setup, including Advanced
- Perhaps remove and then reinstall the HP Smart App on the iPad
- Restart everything, including the printer, the device printing (iPad), and router. (Unlikely to help unless the problem is one of communication.)
- Reset the printer:
- Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
note:
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
If I think of anything else, I will post back.
