Thanks for reaching out to us on the HP Support Forums. MKazi is at your service.
I understand that when you print from your iPhone or iPad from your HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer, the first page prints blurry. However, when printing from your Mac computer, all pages are printed fine. Not to worry, I'll be glad to assist you with this case.
Did this issue start after an update?
Meanwhile, during my research, I came across the following steps that should help us fix this issue:
- Update the iOS on your iPhone and iPad and then try to print.
- If the issue persists then please update the printer's firmware through the front panel menu on the printer:
NOTE: The printer needs to be restarted once the firmware is successfully updated.
The following print settings might be available in iOS depending on the application you are printing from, your printer model, and Apple iOS device. If the printer or app does not support a particular setting, the option does not display.
-
Copies: Select the number of copies that you want to print.
-
Range: Select the pages to be printed in a multi-page document.
-
Double-sided: You can choose to print on both sides of the paper if your printer supports two-sided (duplex) printing.
-
Black & White: Tap On when you do not want color print outs.
-
Paper: AirPrint supports U.S. Letter, A4, U.S. Legal, 4 x 6 inch, and A6 paper.
With AirPrint, you do not have the option to select different paper sizes. Paper and media sizes are automatically selected depending on the app you are printing from, your printer, and the region in which you are using AirPrint.
For example, from Apple’s Photo application, if your printer has a separate photo paper tray, AirPrint uses 4 x 6 inch photo media as the default paper size. If the printer does not have a separate photo paper tray, AirPrint uses letter-size paper. If you are printing from Apple’s Safari web browser, letter-size paper is the default paper size in the US region, and A4 is the default paper size in Europe.
In case the issue still persists then you can install and use the HP Smart app on your iPhone and iPad and check the print quality results. Click here to know more about the HP Smart app.
I genuinely hope this fixes the issue. Feel free to keep me posted.
