Your HP OfficeJet 8020 series printer is currently marked as "Unavailable" in the HP Smart app. This usually means the printer is either offline, disconnected from the network, or experiencing a communication issue.

Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure the printer is powered on.
  • If using Wi-Fi, verify that the printer is connected to the correct network.
  • If using a USB cable, try reconnecting it securely.

Restart the Printer and Router

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router to refresh the network connection.
  • Power the printer back on and check its status in the HP Smart app.

Verify Printer Settings

  • Open the HP Smart app and go to SettingsPrinter Status.
  • Ensure Remote Printing is enabled if you’re trying to print from a different location.

Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
  • Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.
