I am trying to remove my printer from the Instant Print Account as it keeps prompting my printer to connect. I have even cancelled the account. I have ended up deleting the printer from my HP SMART Accoubt but this has not stopped the Instant Ink account trying to connect.

Hi @Trevor471,
Thank you for getting back. Once the Instant Ink service is cancelled, any Instant Ink cartridges installed in the printer will no longer work. These cartridges are tied to the subscription and require an active service to function.
To resume normal printing and stop receiving prompts to activate the service or the issues you're currently facing, please remove the Instant Ink cartridges and replace them with standard HP Genuine ink cartridges.
Once replaced, your printer will function independently and will no longer try to connect to the Instant Ink service. Let us know.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Trevor471,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We completely understand how frustrating it is when you've taken every step to remove a service, yet your printer keeps trying to reconnect.
To fully stop the Instant Ink prompts:
- Check the printer screen for a notification about HP+ or Instant Ink — if you see it, try selecting “Cancel” or “Disable” where available.
- On the printer itself, go to:
- Settings > Web Services > Remove Web Services
- This will completely disconnect the printer from the HP cloud, stopping the prompt.
- After that, reboot the printer.
If it still prompts after that, you may also want to:
- Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) via your printer’s IP address in a browser, go to the Web Services tab, and disable them from there.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Vikram,
Sadly this did not work. I have stopped web services, rebooted printer done URL and all clear there.
I think problem is that despite cancelling the account the Instant Print Summary page still shows my printer and keeps trying to connect to it. I get message up "The printer cannot be connected at this time. Tray again later.
So on my printer it keeps saying "Connect Printer to update INstant Ink status".
I have completed my last payment and still have the iInstant Ink cartridges in the printer. I dont like waste! I have purchased new HP Cartridges for when they run out. Looking through the Help information it says " Instant Ink Cartidges only work with enrolled Printers" - do you think this is the cause for this situation?
