Hello. Since my Envy 4524 died a few days ago due to a power surge, I bought an HP OfficeJet 6950. I already linked it to my account, and removed the Envy from the same account, but obviously couldn't turn off Web Services first because it doesn't even turn on anykore. However, I thought I was going to reuse the same HP ePrint email address; however, when I try to set it in my HP Smart page for the Officejet 6950, I get an error saying it's already taken. What can I do to move the email address to the new printer? I read I will be able to reuse that address after six months. Is this true even if I never explicitly disabled Web Services on the printer, but it just died in a second? If not, what can I do?

@Lorthirk, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Check the following requirements to reuse a customized HP ePrint email address.
-
You can reuse a customized HP ePrint email address immediately on printers associated with your HP Connected account when:
-
You turned off Web Services, restored the printer to factory settings, or performed a printer reset.
-
You purchased a new printer to replace an old printer and want to use the old printer's email address with the new printer on the same HP Connected account.
-
You removed your printer from one HP Connected account, and want to add your printer to a different HP Connected account.
-
-
You can reuse your customized email address after 6 months when:
-
You turned off Web Services on your printer and transferred your printer to a different HP Connected account.
-
You want to use an existing printer email address with a different printer on a different HP Connected account.
-
To Reuse the previous custom email address
Go to your HP Connected account to reuse the customized HP ePrint email address.
-
Go to HP Connected, and then sign in to your account.
-
Find the printer you want to modify, and then click Change Settings.
-
Under ePrint Settings, click the printer's current email address.
-
Type the HP ePrint email address you want to reuse in the text box, and then click Submit.
-
If the address you typed is available to reuse, the address updates immediately.
-
If the address you typed is not available to reuse, try a different address, and then click Submit.
-
-
Inform any allowed senders of the new HP ePrint email address.
To know how to setup HP ePrint, you may refer to this document.
Let me know how this goes.

Hi @Kumar0307, thank for your reply.
I already followed those instructions and I still the error message that says the address is in use. Do I really need to wait six months even if I correctly REPLACED my printer?
This sounds like something went wrong somewhere.

Since you were not able to disable Webscan on the previous printer, you will have to wait for 6 months to use the same email address for security reasons.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.

I have the same problem but I can't see why I should have to wait 6 months:
Step 1: Check the requirements
- You can reuse a customized HP ePrint email address immediately on printers associated with your HP Connected account when:
- You turned off Web Services, restored the printer to factory settings, or performed a printer reset.
- You purchased a new printer to replace an old printer and want to use the old printer's email address with the new printer on the same HP Connected account.
- You removed your printer from one HP Connected account, and want to add your printer to a different HP Connected account.
- You can reuse your customized email address after 6 months when:
- You turned off Web Services on your printer and transferred your printer to a different HP Connected account.
- You want to use an existing printer email address with a different printer on a different HP Connected account.
I didn't use a different HP Connected account, I purchased a new printer to replace an old printer on the same HP Connected account. I don't see how security is an issue; I've got a password protected account!!!

I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding this issue, they should be able to help.
Have a great day!
