Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to print from my android phone to my Hp ink jet printer using HP print service Plugin both connected through my home WiFi

I get an alert which reads "your document may pass through one or more servers on its way to the printer".

I am concerned that printing is not safe or secure or that HP may keep a copy of what I print?  Is this a possibility or is it safe like Apple Airprint?

Thanks

Hi @Mike_R359,

If you have a printer that supports Print Anywhere and have enabled Print Anywhere using the HP Smart app, you can print remotely to your printer using the HP Print Service Plugin.

Supported printers have Remote and a Cloud icon in their description in the printer list. It is only while using this print anywhere option it may pass though HP servers.

When you print directly from your phone to the printer, the servers do not come in to picture.

I hope this helps.

Hi

Thanks for replying,  I use an HP Envy 4527.

If I use the HP Plug and my own home WiFi,    it states my print job may pass through several servers before printing.  I thought it would just print from my android phone direct to my printer using my home WiFi.  Like Apple Air print??

Can you confirm it doesn't go via external servers where a copy of whatever I print could be retained which is not safe at all.

Thanks
