I recently sold my 3830 to a friend of mine and told her she could run the rest of my Instant Ink Cartridges out before she had to either buy more ink or sign up for HP's Instant Ink program on her own. The cartridges are getting low and she's opted to join HP's program. The problem we're having is with the enrollment instructions. It directs you to print out a "Claim Code" in order to join the program but when I print out the document there is no "Claim Code" to use which stops us dead in our tracks during the enrollment process (as there is no option to skip this step). I'm assuming the code isn't there because the printer is already registered with the program and the "Claim Code" is for "out of the box" customers attempting to enroll in the program for the first time.
So can anyone advise us on how to get around this issue? The printer is currently registered to me and I've been paying the monthly fees since November. We want to completely remove my name from the printer software, cancel my Instant Ink subscription, re-register the printer under her name, and sign her up for the Instant Ink program (or at least give her the option to do so if that's what she ultimately decides). Either way, I need to get my name removed from her printer so we can put a period on this.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I see from your post that you need information and assistance related to Instant ink program. Don't worry I'll be glad to help you.
As you have mentioned in your post that you have sold this printer to your friend and you would like your friend to continue using the Instant ink subscription until the cartridges goes out.
Now when your friend is trying to enrol it does not give the claim code, as the printer is already enrolled in instant ink program.
So, here you would need to go ahead and cancel your Instant ink subscription. Once your account is cancelled, Your friend can go ahead and follow the same procedure to enrol the printer and this time it should give the option to print the claim code.
For more details on how to cancel the Instant ink subscription - HP Instant Ink - Cancelling Your HP Instant Ink Service
Now, please follow the instructions below to go ahead and enrol your printer into the Instant ink program.
Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.
Please go ahead and turn off web services on the printer:
Use the following instructions to remove Web Services.
1. From the Home screen, touch Setup , and then touch Web Services.
2. Touch Remove Web Services.
Now go ahead and enable web services on the printer:
To set up Web Services using the printer control panel
1. From the Home screen, touch (HP ePrint)
2. Touch Set Up.
3. Touch Accept to accept the HP Connected terms of use and enable Web Services.
4. In the Printer Update Options screen, choose the option which allows the printer to automatically install
updates.
