My father has just an iPad (4th gen) as his computer. His previous airprint printer died and was sold an HP Envy 7155 by the local big box store, knowing that he only had an iPad. The 7155 seems to require downloading HP software to an actual computer for initial setup. Is this correct? His last printer connected easily to the wireless network and allowed AirPrint to work right away. Is this simple setup process not possible with the HP 7155?

Printer does support HP ePrint; Apple AirPrint; Mopria-certified; Wireless Direct Printing therefore you can connect printer to iPad without a computer. Please watch the following video

Thank you. That does help a little. I knew that it had AirPrint capability and that an iPad could print directly to the printer. However, I am mainly asking about the initial setup out of the box. The setup guides all indicate the need to download the HP software to a computer to setup the printer.  is it possible to connect this printer directly to a wifi network and start printing by AirPrint right out of the box without any setup? Thanks.
