I tried something else. I went to SETTINGS, CONNECTIONS, MORE CONNECTION SETTINGS, Printing, turned OFF HP Print Services, and turned ON Default Print Services. Printing one high resolution colour photo onto 4 x 6" photo paper is now taking 1 minute which is a big improvement.

Thanks for the update and I'm happy to know your issue is resolved now.

 

So it was certain it was an issue with the smartphone settings. However, as you were able to figure out the problem, kudos to you.
