So, when i came home yesterday there was an A4 printed from my printer. No one else has been home since i live there alone.
I have it connected with HP connected so im able to print by mailing: "<username>@hpeprint.com".
and ive locked it down so only me and my other family members can use it.
ive talked to them and no one of them has been printing (well, most of them had forgot they even could do it).
Its also connected wireless (wifi) on my network.
so, either HP connected had some issues letting anyone print to my printer, and someone by mistake happened to choose my username to print to at the same time.
or someone has hacked HP Connected.
Or someone has managed to get access to my network without my knowledge and without alerting any of my firewalls or network monitoring tools. and without getting logged anywhere. just so they could print an A4 with a request to be able to get a "västtrafik" monthly card (travelcard for buss etc.) paid by the employeer.
the last one just seems to unbelievable.
So, anyone else had weird stuff printed out of their printer without them printing anything the last couple of days?
Or anyone heard something from HP that could explain why this happened?
i most certainly forgot to mention everything that is good to know. So if someone needs more information. Dont hesitate to ask.

Hi @nmbrg,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
This is a wonderful place to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.
I reviewed your post and understand that the printer printed a document from an unknown sender.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
I would like to inform you that anyone who knows your printer email address can print from your printer. I recommend you enable allowed senders to print from your HP connected account.
The other possibility is that the wireless direct the printer might have enabled and someone might have printed it by mistake. I suggest you disable wireless direct on the printer or password protect it to make sure that unknown users do not print.
Here is how it is done.
Open an internet browser and enter 192.168.223.1 in the address bar. This will open the printers Embedded Web Server (EWS). In the EWS, click on Network, then on the left, under Wireless Direct Printing, choose Status. In the Status section, click on Edit Settings. You will now see the option to choose on with security and the section to customize the password.
Let me know how it goes. Awaiting your reply!
