HP Deskjet 2855e

I am trying to connect my printer to the wifi, but I do not know how to receive the mac address of the printer since it is not connected to anything. Is there any way for me to grab the mac address?

Hi @EricPens,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

You can find the MAC address of your HP Deskjet 2855e printer using a couple of methods.

Check Printer Settings from the Printer's Control Panel:

  • Turn on your printer and make sure it’s not in power-saving mode.
  • Navigate to the setup menu (often represented by a gear icon or the word "Setup").
  • Select the "Network" or "Wireless" settings option.
  • Look for "Print Network Configuration Page" or a similar option. This will print a page with details about your network settings, including the MAC address.

Check Your Router’s Device List:

  • Log in to your router’s web interface. This is usually done by typing the router's IP address into a web browser.
  • Find the section that lists connected devices or DHCP clients.
  • Look for your printer in the list. The MAC address should be listed next to the printer's name or IP address.

Use HP Smart App (if the Printer is Temporarily Connected):

  • If you’ve temporarily connected the printer to your network using a USB cable, open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Select your printer in the app.
  • Go to the "Printer Settings" or similar section.
  • You should see the MAC address listed under network details.

Check the Printer’s Manual or Label:

  • Some printers have a label on the back or bottom with network information, including the MAC address. Check your printer’s manual or physical labels.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
