@Astronut1, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To resolve the communication error between your iPhone 15 and the HP ENVY 5530, follow these steps:

Ensure that HP Wireless Direct is Enabled:

  • On your printer's control panel, press the Wireless Direct icon.
  • Ensure that it is turned on. If it's off, select Settings and then choose to turn on wireless direct with or without security.

Connect iPhone to HP Printer:

  • On your iPhone, go to the Wi-Fi settings.
  • Look for and connect to the HP wireless direct network (e.g., HP-Print-XX-ENVY-5530, where XX are unique characters).
  • If prompted, enter the wireless direct password (if you've set up wireless security).

Ensure Printer and iPhone are on the Same Network:

  • If you’re using your Wi-Fi network to connect, make sure both the printer and iPhone are connected to the same network.

Check for Software and Firmware Updates:

  • Make sure your printer firmware is up-to-date by visiting the HP website.
  • Check for any software updates on your iPhone via the Settings app under General > Software Update.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Reset the network settings on your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  • Note: This will remove all stored Wi-Fi passwords, so ensure you know your Wi-Fi password beforehand.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer and your iPhone, wait for a few seconds, and then turn them back on.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
