HP Officejet Pro 8610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've tried to partial reset, and semi full reset an HP officejet pro 8610. I've looked here:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/HP-Connected-Mobile-Printing-and-Cloud-Printing/Unable-to-reset-Embedd...

I've entered the username and credentials as per the link above. It doesn't really work. It says it's locked, and to please try later after attempts have proven unsuccessful. I'm not sure what "later" means in terms of time? Does any one know?

I've done a hard reset ie: pulling the cable, waiting 60 seconds, pulling the cartridges out, powering back up, and reinserting the cartridges

I've managed to go in to the support menu, in order to first do the partial reset, and then the semi full reset

We are still unable to gain access to the printer's web interface. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey there! @waqasahmed939, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you need to know how to reset username and password on embedded web server page on your printer.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

Without restoring the network to defaults you cannot change the EWS username and password.

Try restoring the network settings to default and check if it helps.

Touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network. Touch Restore
Network Defaults, and then select Yes. A message appears stating that the
network defaults have been restored.

If the issue still persists try restoring the printer back to factory settings and check if it helps.

Touch (right arrow), touch Setup, select Reports and then select Print
Network Configuration Page to print the network configuration page and verify
that the network settings have been reset.

Also, try the steps recommended below.

  1. Open a web browser and type the printer IP address in the address field exactly as it appears on the Configuration Page, and then press Enter.

  2. Click the Security tab, and under General Security, set the local administrator password.

    1. Keep the username default as admin.

    2. Type the New Password and Verify Password.

    3. Navigate to the bottom of the page and click Apply.

Use these credentials the next time you Log In to the EWS.

Refer the print user guide for more information. Click Here
