Hi, I just recently purchased an Laserjet printer (HP LaserJet M140w). I use the HP Smart App to print files off of my iPhone.
When I select multiple files at the same time in my files and click on the HP Smart app to print them, the App only shows the first selected file and only prints that one.
Selecting each one and printing one after the other takes forever, is there any way to select multiple files at once?
Thank you!

Hi @Ze76,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I can understand how time-consuming it is to print files one by one, especially when you have multiple documents to process. Let’s explore how to make this easier for you.
- Are the files stored locally on your iPhone or in a cloud service like iCloud, Google Drive, or Dropbox?
- What file format are you trying to print (e.g., PDF, images, Word documents)?
- Have you tried updating the HP Smart app to ensure it supports batch printing on your iPhone?
Let's try these steps.
Update the HP Smart App
- Check the App Store for updates to the HP Smart app. An outdated version might not support multi-file printing.
Check File Compatibility
- Ensure all the files you want to print are in a compatible format (e.g., PDF, JPEG). The app may have limitations if different formats are selected together.
Use the "Add Files" Option in the App
- Instead of selecting files from the Files app directly, open the HP Smart app and manually add multiple files through the Print Documents or Print Photos feature. This method might allow batch selection.
Combine Files into a Single Document
- Use a file management app or a third-party app to merge multiple files into a single PDF before printing. This way, you can send all pages in one print job.
Check for Alternative Printing Methods
- If batch printing isn’t working through the app, consider using AirPrint directly from the Files app. Select multiple files, tap Share, and then choose Print to see if it supports batch printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
