CANT GET TO PRINT FROM IPHONE

Hi @norma357,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand how convenient it is to print directly from your iPhone, so let's get your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw set up for smooth mobile printing.

Here are a few questions and steps to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Are you able to see the printer in your iPhone's list of AirPrint-enabled printers?
  • Is your iPhone connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer?
  • Have you tried printing from other devices, such as a computer, to confirm the printer is online?

Check Network Connection on Printer and iPhone:

Make sure both your iPhone and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. You can verify the printer’s network connection by printing a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel (usually found under Setup > Reports > Network Summary).

Enable AirPrint on the Printer:
Go to your printer’s settings through the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS). Type the printer’s IP address into a web browser (like Safari on your iPhone or a computer on the same network), log in if prompted, and ensure AirPrint is enabled under Networking or Services.

Restart Printer and iPhone:
Power off your printer, wait for about 10 seconds and turn it back on. Restart your iPhone as well to refresh the connection.

Check for Printer Firmware Updates:
If you can access the printer settings via the HP Smart app on a different device, go to Advanced Settings (usually found under Printer Information), and check for any available firmware updates for the printer, as this can improve compatibility with mobile devices.

Use HP Smart App for Printing:
Download the HP Smart app from the App Store, open it, and add your printer. The app may be able to detect the printer and allow you to print documents and photos directly from the app if AirPrint is not functioning.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
